Workshop on Soft Embalming

The Anatomical Society of Rajasthan (ASR) is proud to champion the transition toward soft embalming techniques, a transformative approach in the field of morphological sciences. Unlike traditional formalin-based preservation, which results in rigid, discolored tissues, soft embalming—utilizing methods such as the Thiel or saturated salt solutions—preserves the cadaver with life-like flexibility, realistic tissue texture, and natural color.

In today’s rapidly evolving medical landscape, this technique is indispensable. It provides an unparalleled platform for Advanced Surgical Skills Training (ASST), allowing surgeons and residents to practice procedures like laparoscopy, intubation, and nerve blocks on "living-to-the-touch" anatomy. By bridging the gap between the classroom and the operating theater, soft embalming ensures higher patient safety and surgical precision, reinforcing ASR’s commitment to excellence in medical education and clinical proficiency.
